The Gentle Art's website is a cozy showcase where cross stitchers can discover beautiful threads hand overdyed by craftsmen with an absolute commitment to quality. You will see Gentle Art product line, 100% cotton, 6 strands thread (161 colors variations) such as SAMPLER THREADS and SIMPLY SHAKER, and over 30 colors with the threads called SIMPLY WOOL. Gentle Art says that " working with overdyed floss is a fun experience ... threads give new pieces an aged appearance".

Sea Spray, Celery, Bittersweet, Peacock are not just color names but rather a "mood" that qualify what the Gentle Art envisioned when creating their threads. The company explains that the threads are consistent in quality, and colors. Dyes and catalyst agents are highly efficient and extremely gentle so that thread's durability is maintained. The site provides us with  some care instructions such as how to wash a piece after stitching. This comes very handy when it comes to preserving your favorite piece ! 

What if I want to use SIMPLY THREADS on a chart that gives me another brand? Well this might be problematic since Gentle Art won't provide you with a conversion chart. They explain that it is impossible to match the wide palette (300- 400 colors) of big companies. However we found one website that propose a conversion with DMC and Anchor. But use it at your own risks ! 

Also take into account that the company does not sell online directly to the consumer. However you can click on shop locator and find a retailer in your state or country. This same shop locator will inform you if the shop has a website.
