Sea anemone cushion

Preparation:
- Oversew the embroidery widths (BC and opposite), the widths of the linen (sea shell, DE and opposite) and the four sides of the fabric.
-Sew a 0.6 '' lapel (1,5 cm) along the length that you did not oversew on the two pieces of linen. To do that, squeeze the linen along a thread to obtain a straight lapel.
- Iron the lapel to mark them.

- Unfold the bias binding.

- Mark a new fold and iron to unmark the old folds.

- Place on each raspberry bias the plum satin bias, shifting it by 13/32'' ( 0,4 cm) . Tack.
Assembly:

- Place the line over the striped fabric (Use the schematic on the magazine). Tack on B and E.

- Slide the assembled bias under the linen in C and D, letting the satin bias jut out by 13/32''. Tack. Small trick: To line up the 3 pieces (linen, fabric, bias), work on a ironing borad so you can pin the pieces on the felt. Then you can tack with a thread. Just be careful not to sew the ironing board to your work!

- Sew as close as you can on the edge of the linen the seams B,C,D,E with a thread of color linen.

- Sew the sea shell buttons following the schematic in the magazine
-To make the sea shell button follow the link.

- Stitch down AB and EF to make the the back of the cushion and mark the folds B and E with an iron. Flip the piece with the embroidery turned inside. Sew, with a thread (same color as the striped fabric) A and F together over 2 and 3/8'' ( 6 cm) on each side and at 1'' (2,5 cm) from the edge.

- Iron the lapels.
- Turn outside in your work (inside facing inside).
- Slide a magazine inside.

- Place the zipper on the edge of and under the fabric.
-Pin one side and tack.

- Place the other side so that both edge overlap.

. Pin and tack.

- Sew as close as you can from the edge. Place the pressing foot on the edge of the zipper and adjust the needle toward the edge as mus as you can (read the instructions manual of your machine).

- Trick: You can sew the zipper open or closed. However when you will be near the zipper slider, you will stop your machine with the needle down. Then you pull up the pressing foot, move the slider, push down the pressing foot. Check if the pieces are lined up and finish sewing.

- Sew all around the zipper.

- Turn the piece inside out, open the zipper and sew the left and right side at 3/8'' (1 cm).
.
-Et voilà it is ready for the best siesta ever !
